Typical day in a Frigiliana holiday...
Of course there is no such thing as a typical day in a Frigiliana holiday.
However, should you want
some ideas...
08:30 A romantic beach walk
Drive down to Burriana
beach (about 10 minutes away from our Frigiliana apartment) and enjoy a leisurely walk on the beach.
Slip your shoes off and
let the warm mediterranean sea welcome you to a new day in your Frigiliana holiday.
In Spring and summer it will
already be pleasantly warm,
but not too hot and certainly not yet crowded. After your walk buy some freshly baked bread for breakfast.
10:00 The Frigiliana village tour
Return to Frigiliana, take a seat at Vertudes bar, order a coffee and wait for
the village walking tour to start. Two rivals operate here; Suzy and Dave. Both are
knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Be sure to buy something from the local craftsmen
and taste a sample of the local Muscatel wine.
12:00 Time for tapas!
After the village walk you will almost certainly be ready for a tapa or two. All
the bars have tapas. Just follow your nose and experiment! Tapas will remain an abiding
memory of your Frigiliana holiday.
14:00 Lunch
Wander up and down the pretty streets until you arrive at a restaurant you like. There
are many to choose from but I provide some ideas on my
Frigiliana restaurants page. Take your time, there's no need to hurry.
16:00 Time for a rest
Meander back to the apartment, lower the awning to shade the terrace, lean back,
close your eyes and enjoy a siesta snooze - as most people do in Frigiliana.
18:30 Wake with a swim
In summer the sun will not set until about nine, so there's plenty of time left for
sunbathing and swimming. If you are feeling lazy just walk to the apartment pool, swim a few lengths
and dry off in the warm evening sun.
Another option is to visit the village swimming pool. Exit
the apartment block, turn left and walk about 200 meters. This pool is well worth a visit
during your Frigiliana holiday;
not only is the entry fee very reasonable, it is also Olympic sized and benefits from
amazing views of the
countryside and sea.
20:30 Catch up on things back home
Cheer yourself up by switching on the TV and looking at the weather forecast for England!
The apartment has satellite TV and also a large DVD collection so why not open a
bottle of cool San Miguel and relax with your
favourite soap, a movie, or watch some Spanish TV.
22:00 Where to go for dinner?
This would be considered a little early for dinner by the locals, but by now
you will probably be feeling a bit peckish.
So freshen up and stroll along to one of the
many restaurants.
Many of them have
terraces or balconies, so take a seat in the warm evening air and think of the meal ahead.
Gaze out into the night, admire the
stunning views over a glass of chilled wine and relax, smiling at the thought that tomorrow
will bring yet another
perfect day in your Frigiliana holiday...
